Parks Update We are pleased to announce that the Ford Foundation has joined in the effort to develop the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza park into an even more effective community gathering space. The Foundation's Good Neighbor Committee has awarded a $15,000 grant to the Turtle Bay Association for both special events in the park and start-up costs for park maintenance. The grant, which was awarded earlier this year, will be used to plan and produce a variety of programs and to put in place various maintenance contracts, which will eventually be taken over by the Friends of Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. A program schedule for the special events will be announced once a firm date for the park's completion has been given to us by the Parks Department. Now that Phase III of Hammarskjold Plaza park is back on track, plans are moving forward to best utilize the Ford Foundation grant, as well as other contributions specifically earmarked for Hammarskjold Plaza and the park's Katharine Hepburn Garden.
