Next to Her, TBA is Just a Child When TBA President Bill Curtis wrote his column about Turtle Bay Association's
45th anniversary, he didn't now that we had at least one centenarian in Turtle
Bay. But Cornelia M. Roberts was born in Vienna, Austria on October 16, 1902
and she has lived in Turtle Bay since 1952 - predating even the TBA.
Though her mobility is now somewhat limited by poor vision, she is as active
mentally as ever. She has done many things in her life, including being a translator
in World War II, but she remembers with special fondness her years as an equestrian.
Married twice and now a widow, with her brothers all killed in World War I (yes,
one), she has made her friends her "family" over the years. That's
probably why more than 40 people showed up at the party given to help her celebrate
the century mark.
We congratulate her and wish her continued good health.
